i feel like there is this asoiaf misinterpretation happening with the tyrell family, mostly from show fans recently where people seem to think the house is all about lady power and rejects the patriarchal structure of westeros and the woman make all of the decisions. certainly the tyrells have some tough ladies, but they aren’t a one family champion of feminism that worships women and fully recognizes their rights and value as people. they follow all of the same customs as the others houses. olenna and margaery just happen to know how to skirt around those customs and use them to their advantage the girls doing it in spite of their family’s customs isn’t the same as the family itself being a feminist collective. it speaks to the genius of olenna and margaery and not their family as a group.
