OKAY JUST ANSWERING PUBLICLY B/C
I don’t think anyone messed with Sam, but it’s not like we got to see every single one of Sam’s memories. We saw a few. Furthermore, Sam had a much more realistic perspective on his childhood. Dead idealized a lot of it, while Sam recognized a lot of it as fucked up and abusive. Of course he’s going to have a lot of memories on his own.
But yeah like, just because the 3 selective memories we saw of Sam were him alone doesn’t mean he doesn’t value his family. If people want to play that game, we could wait for some of Dean’s greatest sex scenes to come out of the woodwork and then complain that HE is selfish because not all of his memories are superhappyfuntiemeswiththewinchesters.
Heaven is an eternal loop of good moments. Not an eternal loop of a small, selective few.
I feel like 90% of the issue with that episode falls into the writing, aka the “Sam is always the bad guy” even if that isn’t canonically true trend that the writers have such a massive boner for.
